Here are the two different versions of my character Grey. I'm thinking for the way I want to animate Grey is a real ethereal, smoky like motion. His skeletal wires will be intermittently visible as his skin moves over his body. His legs will melt into a big puddle around his feet. Once he puts his space suit on, his body will be contained. I'm dealing with some issues with his head being too heavy so I might change what I use for his mask. I have half a golden bouncy ball that my girlfriend found when she was cleaning her room. I think that might work nicely and still work to the same effect. Anyways let me know what you think about the character models because they are still very much up in the air.
I love the thought of him continually melting, that will prove to be straining have to morph him a bit every frame. It will look really cool though. Depending on what surface you use for the moon, you could try what I was playing around with- the wires through the feet. I think the problem maybe with a golf ball is that it will be recognized pretty fast as just that. Maybe if there was some piece of plastic that could substitute, because I like the simplicity it has. There could also be some confusion about the suit being that it looks pretty much exactly like his skin. Maybe even using a different material completely? TiMe To LoOk FoR sOmE oLd CoUcHeZzzz...
